1、 General safety regulations

1. Personnel requirements: Operators must undergo strict training, be familiar with equipment performance, operating procedures, and safety regulations before they can operate independently.

2. Safety protection: Before the test, it is necessary to ensure that all protective covers and nets are installed in place and firmly and reliably. During the testing process, all personnel should stay away from the testing area and are strictly prohibited from standing in front of or on both sides of the specimen to prevent broken fragments from flying out and injuring people.

3. Emergency situation: Familiarize yourself with the location of the emergency stop button. In case of any emergency situation (such as abnormal noise, sample slippage, control system failure, etc.), immediately press the emergency stop button.

4. Equipment status: In case of any abnormality or malfunction of the equipment, it should be immediately stopped from use and reported for repair or consulted with professional technicians. It is strictly prohibited to operate it with a problem.

2、 Preparation before operation

1. Environmental inspection:

·Check if the laboratory environment meets the requirements (temperature, humidity, no vibration, no corrosive gases).

·Check for any obstacles around the equipment to ensure there is sufficient operating space.

2. Equipment status check:

·Cleaning: Check and clean the jaws, slides, and workbench to ensure that there are no iron filings, dust, or other debris.

·Lubrication: Check whether the lubrication of the transmission mechanism (such as screw and guide rail) is good.

·Tightening: Check whether the connecting bolts of each part are tightened, especially the key components such as sensors and jaw seats.

·Hydraulic system: Check if the hydraulic oil level is within the calibration range and if there is any leakage at the pipeline joints.

3. Power and system inspection:

·Connect the main power supply, turn on the power switch of the control cabinet and measurement and control system.

·Start the control computer and testing software, and preheat the equipment for at least 15 minutes.

4. Sample and tooling preparation:

·Check if the sample specifications and dimensions meet the standard requirements.

·Select appropriate jaws (flat jaws, V-shaped jaws, threaded jaws, etc.) and attachments based on the type of specimen (bar, plate, rope, chain, etc.).

·Measure and record the original dimensions of the sample, such as diameter, width, thickness, etc.

5. Software settings:

·Select or create the correct testing method in the software.

·Enter necessary information such as the original parameters and gauge length of the sample.

·Set appropriate testing speed, end conditions, and other parameters.

3、 Operation steps

1. Install the sample:

·Manual alignment: Use jog or handwheel mode to move the crossbeam so that the distance between the jaws on both sides is slightly greater than the length of the specimen.

·Center placement: Place the sample straight and centered into the left and right jaws. The axis of the specimen must coincide with the centerline of the tensile machine, which is the key to ensuring testing accuracy.

·Pre clamping: For hydraulic jaws, pre clamping is performed first to ensure that the sample is initially fixed.

2. Clamping and initialization:

·Clamping the specimen: Activate the clamping command (manually or through software) to clamp the specimen according to the specified torque or pressure. Ensure secure clamping to prevent slipping during testing.

·Force value reset: Reset the current force value (Tare) in the software to eliminate the initial gravity of the sample and fixture.

·Displacement reset: Set the current position of the crossbeam as the displacement zero point.

3. Check and start testing:

·Confirm again that all safety protection devices are in place.

·Confirm that all personnel stay away from the danger zone.

·Click the 'Start Experiment' button in the software.

4. Monitoring of the experimental process:

·Operators should closely observe the testing process and monitor the force displacement/deformation curve in real-time through software.

·Pay attention to whether the device is operating normally and observe whether the sample clamping is reliable.

·It is strictly prohibited to touch the sample or moving parts of the equipment during the testing process.

5. End of experiment:

·After the sample breaks or reaches the preset end conditions, the equipment will automatically stop.

·Hydraulic equipment: First unload the oil cylinder, then stop the oil pump.

·Use a jog or handwheel to return the moving crossbeam and remove the fractured specimen.

6. Data recording and storage:

·Check the test data and curves in the software, and fill in necessary remarks.

·Timely save test reports and data files.

·Clean up the sample debris and keep the work area clean.

7. Shutdown:

·Follow the software prompts to exit the testing program normally and shut down the computer.

·Turn off the power supply of the measurement and control system and the main power supply of the host.

·Perform daily maintenance (cleaning jaws, countertops, etc.).

4、 Common Prohibited Items

·Overloading of equipment is prohibited, and the test force value must be between 1% and 100% of the equipment range.

·Do not switch operating speed while the crossbeam is moving.

·Do not use mismatched or worn jaws to clamp the specimen.

·No adjustment, cleaning, or maintenance work is allowed while the device is in operation.

·Prohibit arbitrary modification of control system parameters and software calibration data.

5、 Emergency response

1. Emergency stop: Whenever danger occurs, immediately press the red emergency stop button on the operation panel or in a prominent position on the equipment.

2. Power failure: When there is a sudden power outage, the equipment will automatically stop. After powering on again, the equipment status should be checked and confirmed to be normal before continuing with unfinished testing.

3. Sample flying out/equipment abnormality: Immediately stop, report to management personnel, and have professional maintenance personnel check for accuracy before reuse.

Strictly following the operation process of "preparation ->inspection ->sample installation ->alignment ->clamping ->zeroing ->monitoring ->cleaning ->recording" is the fundamental guarantee for obtaining accurate and reliable test data and safe production.
