1、 General Provisions
1. Purpose: This regulation is formulated to standardize the safe operation of horizontal tensile testing machines, prevent personal injury accidents and equipment damage, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test data.
2. Scope of application: This regulation applies to all personnel who operate, maintain, and manage horizontal tensile testing machines.
3. Basic requirements: Operators must undergo specialized training and pass assessments, proficiently master equipment performance, operating procedures, and safety precautions before they can operate independently. Untrained or unqualified personnel are strictly prohibited from operating the equipment.
2、 Safety preparation before operation
1. Personal protection:
·It is necessary to wear necessary labor protection equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, and work clothes (tight fitting is advisable, avoid loose clothing).
·When dealing with samples such as metals, composite materials, etc. that may produce debris or fracture splashes, protective masks and cut resistant gloves must be worn.
·Long hair must be curled up and placed inside a work cap.
2. Equipment inspection:
·Check whether the main engine, control system, hydraulic source (if any) and other parts of the testing machine are normal, whether there are any abnormal sounds, oil leaks (for hydraulic type), loose or damaged components.
·Check if each emergency stop button function is effective.
·Check whether the fixture is intact, free of cracks, whether the wear is within the allowable range, and whether the installation is firm.
·Check whether the safety protection devices (such as protective nets, shields, safety gratings, etc.) are complete, effective, and correctly positioned. It is strictly prohibited to dismantle safety devices.
3. Environmental inspection:
·Check the surrounding environment of the equipment, clean up all items unrelated to the experiment, ensure that the operating area is clean, dry, well lit, and the escape route is unobstructed.
·Ensure that the equipment is properly grounded.
4. Sample and tooling inspection:
·Check if the sample specifications and dimensions meet the testing requirements.
·Check the compatibility between the sample clamping end and the fixture to ensure reliable clamping and prevent slipping or flying out during the test.
·Choose appropriate fixtures such as clamps and pins, and ensure that they are intact and undamaged.
3、 Safety precautions during operation
1. Clamp the sample:
·Clamping must be carried out when the equipment is powered off or stopped.
·Use specialized tools (such as wrenches) to install fixtures and specimens, and it is strictly prohibited to insert hands into the active area of the fixtures.
·Ensure that the sample is installed in the center to avoid bearing eccentric loads.
·After clamping is completed, be sure to remove all adjustment tools (such as wrenches) and count and confirm.
2. Set parameters:
·According to the test standards or protocols, correctly set the test parameters (such as force range, speed, limit value, etc.) on the control computer.
·It is necessary to set protection limits such as force and displacement to prevent equipment overload or loss of control of the movable crossbeam after sample fracture.
3. Experimental operation:
·Before starting the equipment, confirm again that all personnel are in a safe area (especially dangerous on both sides and behind the equipment), and loudly remind "Start the test.
·During the experiment, operators are strictly prohibited from leaving their workstations and should concentrate on observing the operating status of the equipment, changes in the sample, and controlling computer data.
·Once any abnormalities are detected (such as abnormal noise, vibration, oil leakage, sample clamping slip, abnormal curve, etc.), immediately press the emergency stop button to abort the test.
·It is strictly prohibited to touch running components, specimens, or attempt any adjustments during the testing process.
4. After the sample fractures:
·Do not approach immediately after the device has stopped. Especially for polymer materials, composite materials, etc., there may be residual stress release and rebound.
·Wait for the device to completely stop before processing.
·When cleaning broken sample fragments, gloves should be worn and tools such as brushes and clips should be used to avoid picking them up directly by hand and prevent sharp edges from cutting.
4、 Safety requirements after operation
1.After the experiment is completed, remove the sample and fixture, and place them back in the designated position.
2. Reset all moving parts of the device (such as the moving crossbeam) to their initial positions.
3. Turn off the main power and hydraulic source of the equipment.
4. Clean equipment and work areas to maintain cleanliness.
5. Fill in the equipment usage record, record the operating status of the equipment and any abnormal situations.
5、 Emergency situation handling
1.In any emergency situation, the primary action is to immediately press the emergency stop button!
2.If personal injury occurs, immediately cut off the main power supply, implement first aid according to the situation, and report to the superior and safety department as soon as possible.
3. If the equipment malfunctions (such as oil leakage or control failure), immediately shut down and cut off the power, hang a "No Operation" warning sign, and notify maintenance personnel to handle it. It is strictly prohibited to disassemble it by oneself.
6、 Maintenance and upkeep safety
1. The daily and regular maintenance of the equipment must be carried out by professionals.
2.Before carrying out any maintenance, the power and hydraulic sources must be completely cut off, and effective measures must be taken to prevent accidental start-up.
3. Strictly follow the maintenance manual provided by the equipment manufacturer for operation.
