The anchor chain tensile testing machine is a large horizontal tensile testing machine designed to simulate the extreme tensile loads that anchor chains can withstand in real working environments, in order to verify their strength, reliability, and safety. Due to the large size and high tonnage requirements of anchor chains, this type of equipment is usually a horizontal structure controlled by electro-hydraulic servo with strong power and sturdy structure.
Core functions and testing objectives
Breaking strength test: This is the most essential test. Continuously stretch the anchor chain specimen until it breaks to determine its MAX breaking force, ensuring it meets the requirements of classification society regulations such as CCS, DNV, ABS, LR, etc.
Proof Load Test: A mandatory inspection of all factory anchor chains. Apply a specified amount of tension (usually around 50% of the breaking strength) to the anchor chain and maintain it for a period of time to check for permanent deformation, cracks, or defects.
Verification of mechanical properties: Through testing, indirectly verify whether the yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and other indicators of the steel used to manufacture anchor chains are qualified.
Quality control and certification: It is a necessary equipment for anchor chain manufacturers to obtain certification from major ship level societies and ensure that their products are qualified for factory delivery.
